The motion of highly charged colloidal particles which are confined between two a highly charged plates forming a wedge geometry is studied at low salt concentration by real-space experiments. It is found that a significant fraction of colloidal particles are trapped in the cusp of the wedge. A thorough discussion of the experimental conditions is given, to exclude like-charge attraction effects and influences of gradients. The resulting phase behaviour for confined near HS Yukawa particles is presented and discussed in comparison to theoretical ground state expectations.
